Love Me As You Find Me

There is a worship song that says “you love me as you find me.” I find those words so powerful and moving. Then the song goes on and says “your love is too good to leave me here.” God’s love is so great that He refuses to leave us in our brokenness without a way out. He refuses to let our sin prevent us from being with Him. Even when we feel we don't deserve to be loved, He deems us worthy. His love is more grand, elaborate, and intimate than we can ever comprehend.

We see a glimpse of it through Jesus. Each of us individually comes to the cross. We see him dying to pay the price for our wrongs. His payment fulfills our debts, forever. This glimpse of God’s love through Jesus widens as we worship together with other followers of Christ. We realize His love is enough for the person to your left, your right, in front of you, and behind you.  It widens more as we see other followers of Jesus walking with Him and worshiping with Him. His love is big enough for our church and the church down the street and the one 2 blocks away and so on and so on. Then our lens widens even more as we share our Jesus as we serve in our community or on a mission trip. Our view of God’s love expands and we realize that He has been pouring out this love for thousands of years and to countless people.

Revelation 1:8 says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Our God is the beginning and the end. He is the present, the past, and the future. 1 John 4:16 tells us that God is love. That means that His love is at the beginning and the end. It is in the present, in the past, and in the future. God is love.

Be blessed and be a blessing,
Matt
