Above All

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. - 1 Peter 4:8

If there was ever a verse to meditate on day in night, this seems to be it. More than anything else, we are to love each other. There is no room in that statement for hate. There is no room in that statement for revenge. There is no room in that statement for slander. There is no room in that statement for withheld forgiveness. 

1 John 4:8 says, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” God is love. When we love we are showing the attribute of God. You could rephrase the statement to this “Above all, show God to each other, because God covers over a multitude of sins.”

Are you willing to show all other people God by the way you love? Are you willing to share the hope of Jesus Christ with the world by the way you live and love?
