About Westside Christian Church
Westside Christian Church is a growing church in Bradenton, Florida, with an average weekly attendance of approximately 235 people. We are passionate about leading people into a life-giving relationship with Jesus and celebrating wins as people take steps toward Jesus as disciples. We believe worship is more than music on a Sunday morning. Worship is an opportunity for people to encounter God, respond to the work of the Holy Spirit, grow in their faith, and take their next step in following Jesus.
We are seeking a Worship Pastor who shares this vision and has a heart for leading people in authentic, Spirit-led worship. We are looking for someone who understands that worship ministry involves much more than what happens on the platform. It includes developing people, building teams, creating an environment where people can engage with God, and faithfully stewarding the technology and creative elements that support our gatherings.
The Opportunity
The Worship Pastor will lead and develop the worship ministry at Westside Christian Church, overseeing the musical, spiritual, technical, and creative elements of our worship experiences. We are looking for a pastor first and a worship leader second—someone who loves Jesus, loves people, values the leading of the Holy Spirit, and desires to help our congregation grow as worshipers and disciples.
The ideal candidate will be both a gifted musician and a capable ministry leader who can lead from the platform, pastor and develop serve team members, and oversee the sound, lighting, presentation, video, streaming, and stage design that support our worship gatherings. They will be team player who enjoys being a productive member of a team in addition to leading teams of people. They will be looking to plant roots and grow with flock that calls Westside Christian Church home.

Key Responsibilities
1. Spiritual Leadership and Pastoral Care
- Lead worship in a way that is biblically grounded, Christ-centered, and responsive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- Pastor, encourage, disciple, and spiritually develop worship team members, creative team members, and volunteers.
- Build meaningful relationships with people in the church and care for them beyond their ministry responsibilities.
- Foster a culture of authenticity, vulnerability, prayer, spiritual growth, and genuine worship.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Pastor and Elders to support the spiritual mission and ministry of Westside Christian Church.
- Plan and lead weekly worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor.
- Lead the worship team during weekend services, holidays, and special events.
- Select songs and develop worship sets that support the biblical message and encourage congregational participation.
- Recruit, develop, schedule, and shepherd musicians and vocalists.
- Help musicians grow in their gifts while building a unified, healthy, and effective team.
- Provide leadership for student ministry worship as needed.
- Oversee the technical elements of worship services, including sound, lighting, presentation, video, streaming, and related technology.
- Manage worship technology, equipment, and systems to ensure reliable and effective operation.
- Oversee ProPresenter presentations, Planning Center scheduling, MultiTracks, video encoding, livestreaming, and other worship-related software and systems.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and develop volunteers serving in audio, lighting, video, and production.
Identify opportunities to improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of the technical production environment.
- Lead the creative team in developing stage designs, lighting plans, and visual elements that support the worship experience.
- Plan and produce video content for announcements, special events, and other ministry needs.
- Bring creative ideas that help communicate the gospel clearly and engage the culture around us.
- Pursue excellence while maintaining a focus on ministry, participation, and the message of Jesus.
- Manage the worship and creative ministry budgets responsibly.
- Lead ministry meetings and communicate effectively with volunteers and ministry leaders.
- Develop systems for scheduling, planning, communication, and team development.
- Oversee worship and technology needs for recovery ministry.
- Participate in staff meetings and other ministry-related meetings as needed.
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Characteristics
We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates the following:
- A growing relationship with Jesus: A baptized follower of Jesus Christ with a strong biblical worldview and a life that reflects Christian character.
- A heart for Spirit-led worship: A desire to seek the Holy Spirit's leading while remaining grounded in Scripture and focused on Jesus.
- A pastor's heart: A genuine love for people and a commitment to their spiritual growth, care, and discipleship.
- Musical proficiency: Strong vocal ability, proficiency with an instrument, and the ability to lead and develop musicians.
- Technical competence: Experience with sound systems, lighting, presentation software, video, livestreaming, and other worship technologies.
- Leadership and team development: Proven ability to lead teams, develop volunteers, build trust, and cultivate a healthy team culture.
- Creativity and initiative: A willingness to generate new ideas, solve problems, and find fresh ways to reach people with the gospel.
- A commitment to excellence: Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective time management, and a desire to steward resources well.
- Strong communication: The ability to communicate clearly, collaborate with others, and lead volunteers with grace and confidence.
- Humility and authenticity: A willingness to be open, honest, teachable, and vulnerable while encouraging those qualities in others.
- Alignment with Westside: A commitment to the core beliefs of Westside Christian Church and the decisions of the Westside Elders.
- A bachelor's degree from a Bible college or university is preferred, as is at least three years of relevant ministry experience.
