Three Kings?

Jan 4, 2026    Matt Ennis

This powerful message takes us beyond the familiar nativity scene to explore what it truly means to go all in for Jesus through the journey of the Magi in Matthew 2. We discover that these weren't three kings at all, but wise men from Persia who embarked on a transformative journey that would change the direction of their lives forever. Their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh weren't random—they prophetically declared Jesus as King, High Priest, and the One who would die for humanity. What's most striking is that after encountering Jesus, they couldn't return home the same way they came. This becomes the central question for us: When we truly encounter Jesus, are we willing to take a different route in our own lives? The message challenges our New Year's resolution mentality and invites us into something deeper—a daily, step-by-step transformation that happens when we make Jesus our priority over our comfort. Just as the Magi risked the unknown by choosing a new path home, we're called to live differently in 2026 because of who Jesus is. The transformational event already happened at the cross and empty tomb; now we simply need to accept this free gift and point our lives toward Him, one faithful day at a time.
